DIRECTIVE: Grandfathering the Minimum Age to Compete

The Minimum Age to Compete at CBTF sanctioned competitions in competitive events has been raised to seven (7) years effective January 1, 2010. Recognizing that there may already be 5 and 6 year old athletes that have competed in prior years, Karen Gratton (CBTF Technical Chair) has issued the following Directives for the 2009-10 and 2010-11 Competition Seasons:

DIRECTIVE FOR THE 2009-2010 COMPETITION SEASON

During the 2009-2010 competition season, Competition Directors have the discretion to allow athletes who are at least 5 years of age as of December 31, 2009 and have previously competed at a sanctioned CBTF competition to compete in individual, duet and group events.

DIRECTIVE FOR THE 2010-2011 COMPETITION SEASON

During the 2010-2011 competition season, Competition Directors have the discretion to allow athletes who are at least 6 years of age as of December 31, 2010 and have previously competed at a sanctioned CBTF competition to compete in individual, duet and group events.
