I didn't start twirling until I was 12 years old.  A few of my friends were new to baton and asked me if I wanted to join.  I have been a highland dancer since I was 4 and decided it would be fun to try something new.  I first started just learning the basics of baton and really enjoyed the friends I made.  My teammates are not just twirling friends but "sisters" Over the past 4 years I have traveled all over Canada and the USA for baton including all 4 years at Twirlmania in Disney World Florida.  The experience and thrill of competiting is second to none and I love the feel when I acomplish a new trick.  I LOVE getting new routines and freestyle is my favorite to perform.  I now help with the new little girls and we all role model for them and buddy up at competitons to help them get through the day with as little stress as possible and a LOT of support.  I am a baton twirler not just in sport but in HEART as well.
