| DIRECTIVE: Grandfathering the Minimum Age to Compete |
The Minimum Age to Compete at CBTF sanctioned competitions in competitive events has been raised to seven (7) years effective January 1, 2010. Recognizing that there may already be 5 and 6 year old athletes that have competed in prior years, Karen Gratton (CBTF Technical Chair) has issued the following Directives for the 2009-10 and 2010-11 Competition Seasons: |

Proper technique of baton and body work is a high priority for CBTF. The following elements will be given special attention and focus during the 2009-10 competitive season. CBTF wants everyone to address them immediately on all levels of twirling; from the recreational level to elite. |

| DIRECTIVE: Clarification of CBTF Group Event Scoring System |
CBTF Groups shall use the current "CBTF Team/Group" score sheets & masters found on the CBTF website (CBTF Competition Score Sheet CD). The WBTF Team/Group role models as shown on the Dec 08 CBTF Role Model DVD and WBTF written descriptions & proficiency scale shall be used for this event. |

For the year 2009, the CBTF will permit provincial associations to hire certified United States Twirling Association (USTA) Judges for their open and provincial competitions providing the following conditions are met: |

CBTF hereby relaxes the requirement that Level A compulsory and short program competitors wear the current CBTF Suit during the 2009 competitive season and permit them to wear plain black leotard/body suits (or borrow a current one) for all open and Provincial competitions. |

| DIRECTIVE: Provincial & Canadian Team Trial Events 2009 |
Provinces shall choose whether to follow the same format as Canadians 2009 (ie: run all team trial events separately) or hold a Provincial Team Trials (ie: combine scores). |
