The June 17 version of the set system for the upcoming 2011 International Cup is now available and attached below, along with two corrections to that version.
- Aug 5: There is an error in the Junior B 2-Baton Order of Appearance. Three athletes (Kali Johnson, Kendra Rich and Louise Veitch) were inadvertently listed twice (copied again onto the next page where the Jr. B 2-Baton continues from one page to the next). They will compete on sets 86, 87, and 88 (Sets 89, 90, and 91 will be blank).
- Aug 6: The consolation round for the Junior B 2-Baton was left out of the Set System. The consolation round for this group will be on Saturday, August 6 - LANE 1 - beginning at Set # 49.
IF you have already printed the June 17 version, you can print the corrected pages for Aug 5 and Aug 6 and substitute.
IF you had not yet printed a set system, please use the July 23 version - it already contains the Aug 5 and Aug 6 corrections.
This year's International Cup uses a different system of rounds than has been used in the past - and very different from what is used at World Championships. To explain...
For Divisions with 8 or fewer competitors...
- Proceed directly to Finals. They will compete in Final Round in random order. Exceptions to this are:
- Elite level, Individual events: always has a Preliminary. They will compete in Final Round in reverse order of finish from the Prelim.
- Pairs, Team and Group events: always has a Preliminary. They will compete in Final Round in reverse order of finish from the Prelim.
For Divisions with 9-40 competitors...
- All athletes compete in a Preliminary Round
- Athletes finishing 9-16 move on to compete in the Consolation Final
- Athletes finishing 1-8 move on to compete in the Final
For Divisions with 41 or more competitors...
- All athletes compete in a Preliminary Round
- Athletes finishing 1-20 move on to compete in the Semi-Final round
- Athletes finishing 1-8 in the Semi-Final move on to compete in the Final
No scores are carried forward from the Preliminary and Semi-Final rounds.
