Karen Gratton moved that, in light of the new Costume Guidelines for WBTF Freestyle, Pairs and Teams developed by the WBTF (July 1999), CBTF shall also follow these Guidelines for all WBTF Events held in Canada as well as for CBTF Teams. The Guidelines are as follows:
- Female athletes have the possibility of choosing from the following types of costumes: (a) one piece leotard; (b) one piece leotard with any kind of skirt; (c) one piece leotard with any kind of trousers/pants or unitard.
- Male athletes have the possibility of choosing from the following types of costumes: (a) costume with long trousers/pants; (b) costume with short trousers/pants.
- Within a Pair, any combination of the above mentioned types of costume is possible.
- Within a Team, a maximum of 2 of the above mentioned types of costumes is allowed.
- Sports shoes must be worn, bearing in mind this is a sporting event.
- Hair must be secured by any method (bearing in mind this is a sporting event). Hats are not allowed. Hair decorations must be secured to the hair.
- Moderate stage makeup (to enhance natural facial features) may be worn, bearing in mind that this is a sporting event. No ornamentation or paint is allowed.
- Ankle socks may be worn. Tights may be worn and must be of flesh colour only.
- No wrist or armbands will be permited unless they are securely attached to the main leotard of the costume.
- And all other costume regulations, updates and revisions that are issued in writing from the WBTF Technical Committee.
