Canadian Team Trial Entry Processing Procedures

  Laurie Mack moved that no late entries be accepted for the Canadian Team Trials beginning in 1991. Also, an administrative charge is to be levied for missing materials or information at a rate of $10.00 per missing item.

 

1994 FEM MOTION #9
  Karen Gratton moved that all provincial team trial results, including scores, must be sent to the CBTF Technical Chairperson immediately after each team trial competition and prior to the Canadian Team Trial deadline.

 

1995 SEM MOTION #7
 

Theresa Eyssens moved that any Team Trial Entry Coordinator's expenses be forwarded to and paid for by that year's Canadian Team Trials host province.

1995 FBM MOTION #12
  Joyce Ormshaw moved that expenses incurred by the Canadian Team Trial Entry Processing Coordinator will be paid for by the CBTF. Entry corrections where telephone calls must be made will be charged to the individual athlete and/or provincial coordinator (ie: person responsible).

 

1995 FBM MOTION #48
 

Betty Davis moved that Canadian Team Trial entries must be submitted to the Host Province by the Provincial Technical Chairperson, or designate, a maximum of seven (7) business days* after the Provincial Team Trials are completed. Host Province would access** pertinent information for programming purposes and take the cheques for deposit and then forward the package to the Canadian Team Trial Entry Processing Coordinator for further processing.

NOTE: LATE ENTRY RULES STILL APPLY

*INTENT: Each Provincial Entry Form should indicate the time deadline so athletes are aware that they must have everything ready right after their team trials. (continued …)

**INTENT: Host Province will duplicate the original entry, remove one (1) picture and Cdn. Entry fee payment and send the original (and remaining enclosures) to the Cdn. Team Trial Entry Processor (must not remove the original from the package).

 

2002 SBM MOTION #24
 

Karen Gratton moved that provinces shall send their competitors' entries for Canadian Team Trials, Open and Winner/Championship Events in one package to the Canadians' Entry Processor. One provincial cheque to cover all entry fees is preferred as the method of payment.

INTENT: The Canadian Entry Processor will provide a standard form and request form for qualifiers to each Provincial Chairperson by March 31st of each year.

2010 SBM MOTION #10
 

Karen Gratton moved to adopt STM Proposal #2 which reads as follows:

  • That CBTF shall offer Freestyle/Compulsories/Short Program/Pairs at the Canadian Winner/Championships
  • That level A athletes shall compete under WBTF age divisions
  • That level B athletes shall compete under CBTF age divisions
  • That Freestyle shall be combined with Compulsories/Short Program, following WBTF tabulation procedures
  • That level A and B Freestyle & Pairs shall follow the same procedure for Preliminary and Final rounds, and that this be the same procedure as for other CBTF individual events
  • That there are no Grand Nationals for the Level A Freestyle or Pairs Champions
  • That awards for the Level A & B Freestyle & Pairs follow the same procedure as for other CBTF Individual events

2012 FBM MOTION #27 (2012 FTM Prop #12)
 

Elan Paluck moved to accept the following procedure with regards to the hosting of provincial qualifying events for athletes from member provinces and athletes from non-member provinces:

  • A member province's chair or coach representing a non-CBTF member province's direct members to contact the chair of a CBTF member province requesting that a provincials qualifying event for their province be held in conjunction with the member province's provincials. This must be done well in advance of the proposed date.
  • Once discussed and approved by the CBTF member province's board, the provincial chair shall send a request in writing to the CBTF president asking for CBTF approval to act as host for the small province/ non- member province. The CBTF Sanction Officer shall be notified by the host province when approval is granted.
  • The hosting province shall submit two sanction request forms to their provincial sanction officer - one for each province. The PSO shall then forward them to the National Sanction Officer who will assign a national sanction number for the event.
  • One entry brochure shall be produced by the host province featuring a separate listing for each province's provincial qualifying individual, duet, group and team trials events. One person shall handle the entry processing for both provinces. Handling of financial and administrative issues shall be discussed and agreed upon by the two provinces. An open competition with individual, duet and group events may be held and athletes from both provinces may enter.
  • The host province shall report the results of both provincial qualifying events to the CBTF data entry coordinator.
  • Each province shall be responsible to send in their own members' entry forms to the Canadian entry processor. Direct members from a non-CBTF member province shall be responsible to submit their own entries. Canadian entry deadline policy shall apply.
