1987 FTM MOTION #28
  That the position of Chief Judge (range find calculator) for freestyle be that of either a technical chairperson or judges' rep.

 

1993 STM MOTION #23 (Amended and Ratified - Motion #23 - 93 SBM)
  Brenda Cooper moved that, when a judge is "Head (or Chief) Judge" for a competition, they be paid an additional amount of $20.00 per day.

 

1994 FTM MOTION #31 (Amended and Ratified - 93 FBM)
  Brenda Cooper moved that the attached CBTF Head Judges' Duties be accepted as presented.

 

1994 FBM MOTION #43
  Betty Davis moved that the CBTF Technical Chairperson not be used as the Head Judge (at the Cdn. Team Trials and Cdn. Championships) and that she/he only be used to judge at Cdn. Team Trials and Cdn. Championships as an absolute necessity.

 

1995 FTM MOTION #36 (Amended & Ratified - 95 FBM - Motion #41)
 

Carol Robinson moved that Motion #36 of the 95 FTM be amended to read:

That the Head Judge or designate at all CBTF-sanctioned competitions will be responsible to collect Time Sheets from all judges and verify all information contained within before submitting to the Competition Director for payment.

 

1997 FTM PROPOSAL #16 (Ratified - 97 FBM - Motion #22a)
 

Ron Kopas proposed that we accept 1997 Annual Judges' Committee Meeting Recommendation #16 which reads:

That the Draft version of the CBTF Head Judges' Duties and Responsibilities at CBTF sanctioned competitions and Team Trial Events be accepted with the following revisions:

  1. Include the Head Judges' duties and responsibilities when an athlete is injured during open and team trial events (as per changes proposed to the CBTF Risk Management Policy - Judges Recommendation #15 - 1997 Annual Judges Committee Meeting - ratified at 97 FBM).
  2. Team Trials - It is the Head Judge's responsibility to stop the competition in the case of:
    1. Costume failure
    2. Injury
    3. Risk Management situation

1999 FTM PROPOSAL #3 (RATIFIED - 99 FBM - MOTION #23)
  Ron Kopas proposed that we accept the Head Judge Duties and Responsibilities revision as presented at the 1999 FTM.

 

2003 SBM MOTION #21
 

Karen Gratton moved that one judge (at Team Trial Events), usually the Head Judge, plus one other (in the case of two panels), are assigned as Chief Judge(s) for the panel(s). Duties would be as follows:

  1. Watch for costume problems or safety concerns and has the authority to stop the competition as required.
  2. Monitor and record any penalties on the athlete's, pair's or team's penalty sheets.
  3. Indicate to the announcer that the panel is ready to proceed.
  4. Watch for missed compulsories and inform the announcer and the rest of the panel.
  5. Monitor that the judges behave in a correct manner and report any concerns to the Head Judge.

2012 FBM MOTION #34 (2012 FTM Prop #19)
 

Elan Paluck moved that all registered M2 and M3 judges are required to update these courses every four (4) years in any one of the following ways:

  • by auditing the course
  • by judging at a Provincial or Canadian Winner/Championship
  • by sitting in on a Provincial** or Canadian Winner/Championships Focus Meeting.

CLARIFICATION: Provincial’s head judge to send an agenda, in advance, to the CBTF Judges’ Rep to be accepted as a full focus meeting.

 

2013 Fall Conference MOTION #21 (Technical Proposal 1)
 

Karen Gratton proposed to accept the Head Judge Selection Criteria & Roles and Responsibilities as presented. Refer to the Head Judge Selection Criteria and Head Judge Duties & Responsibilities documents.
