  Betty Davis moved that hand held video taping will be allowed at competitions at the discretion of the competition director. If a charge is to be imposed, this must be clearly stated on the competition brochure. Video-taping in a designated area will be charged to a maximum of $25 per day. The Competition Director would make the decision regarding the number of permits sold and the area to be used.

Jennifer Meron moved that regarding video-taping at clinics and seminars, video-taping will be allowed at the discretion of the organization running the event. The video-taping fee is not to exceed $25.00 per day.

  Klaus Bower moved that SBTA, given the anticipated deficit relating to the 1994 Canadian Team Trials, not be required to supply video tapes of the Team Trial events to the judges; rather the judges will have the option to purchase video tapes at cost.

  Betty Davis moved that the Host Province be responsible for providing one (1) copy of the video tapes for Canadian Team Trials and Canadian Grand National Championships each year. CBTF will reproduce these tapes and forward any profit realized to the host province for the first year.

Kellie Hart moved that John Chisholm be invited, on behalf of CBTF, to video tape the 1998 Canadian Team Trial Championships in Saskatoon. CBTF will provide, free of charge, one (1) copy to the Host Province. All profits realized by sales of videos will go to CBTF, to offset expenses incurred for his attendance.

Michelle Potter moved that the Process to approve CBTF Technical Manuals, Role Model Video Tapes and Technical Courses be as follows:

Re: New Manuals/Tapes/Courses
That a Commission consisting of knowledgeable members be appointed by the Technical Committee/Board of Directors to develop new Manuals/ Tapes/Courses.

  1. This Commission would submit copies of the new Manual/Tape/ Course to the Technical Committee for their review and approval prior to a Technical Meeting.
  2. If there are any Technical Committee concerns, they will be addressed at meetings and referred back to the head of the Commission until such time as the Technical Committee chooses to accept it "as presented" or "with revisions". A Technical Proposal to accept the Manual/Tape/Course will then be sent to the Board for ratification.

    CLARIFICATION: It is assumed that the Commission will present a Manual/Tape/Course that has been thoroughly researched and prepared. the Technical Committee is reviewing in order to indicate support for the work done by the Commission.
  3. The Commission and the Technical Committee shall be aware of appropriate and reasonable time frames for completion of the project, corresponding materials and information and Effective Dates. All supporting programs shall be in place prior to final Technical Committee approval and Board ratification.
  4. The entire draft of the new Manual/Tape/Course shall be reviewed, no less than thirty (30) days prior to being presented to the Board for ratification, by the following persons for their final approval: - Each Commission member - CBTF Technical Committee - CBTF Executive members
  5. In the case of a New course or manual, sections pertaining to CBTF Policy, administration and financial aspects shall also be reviewed and approved by the following persons, no less than thirty (30) days prior to being presented to the Board for ratification: - CBTF Board members
  6. The Manual/Tape/Course shall be considered UNOFFICIAL until such time as it receives ratification by the Board.

Re: Updates to Manuals/Tapes/Courses

  1. These will not require Board ratification if the change(s) in the Manual/Tape/Course is a ratified Board motion. Updates can be completed without approval/ratification of the entire Manual/Tape/Course again.
  2. All written Board motions must indicate which Manual/Tape/Course the update/change is to be inserted into and the Effective Date.

  • Rachel Bower (CBTF Video Librarian) copy existing VHS tapes onto digital tapes.
  • Tina copy digital tapes onto DVD's and create appropriate chapters and menus.
  • Twenty copies to be made which include case and covers.
  • DVD's forwarded to Rachel for management of the library's inventory. Stock to be restocked as required.
  • CBTF to pay $8.00 per DVD for production.
  • Cost per DVD to be determined.
