- Seminar is approximately 8 to 10 hours in length
- Upon successful completion, the coach has the technical knowledge to instruct the Skills Development Program and Recreational athletes
- Certification requires:
- Successful completion of the Level 1 Coaches Course
- Attendance at the NCCP Course Introduction to Competition - Part A (replacing Level 1 Theory), minimum age is 16
- Minimum age of 16 to become a Level 1 Coach
- Allowed to take the course at age 14 to become a Coach in Training
