The 2025 IBTF Technical WC/NC Qualifier is UNDERWAY!

The 2024 Pan-Pacific Cup will be hosted at the Seven Chiefs Sportsplex & Jim Starlight Centre in Calgary, Alberta, from January 18 to 21, 2024.

This competition is open to all B Level, A Level, and Elite athletes from North America, South America, the Caribbean, Asia, and Oceania.

Updated October 20, 2022 - CBTF continues to monitor the impact of the Coronavirus on public events as it affects us during our competition season.

The 2022 Canadian Team Trials (Regina, SK) and the 2022 Canadian Winner/Championship (Moncton, NB) competitions were held in their usual form. The World Baton Twirling Federation (WBTF) held its 2022 World Championship in Turin, Italy.

At the 2022 Fall Conference, the Board of Directors rescinded the CBTF COVID Protocol for National Competitions, effective immediately.

Dec 3, 2025 - Applications for the Team Manager for the 2026 IBTF World Freestyle and Rhythmic Twirl Championship and Nations Cup are now open.

November 21, 2026 - The preliminary schedule for the 2026 Canadian Team Trials is outlined below.  Please note that the schedule is subject to change based on entries.  A final schedule will be posted after the entries have been processed.

Nov 16, 2025 - Judges are invited to submit an application to judge at the following 2026 National and International competitions:

  • Canadian Team Trials – Oshawa, ON (May 14-16, 2026)
  • Canadian Winner/Championships and Maple Leaf Open – Regina, SK (July 1-5, 2026)
  • IBTF World Freestyle Championship & Nations Cup – Paris, France (August 2026)

November 2, 2025 - Dana Peteleski, CBTF Technical Chair, today announced the result of the compulsory draw for the 2026 Canadian Winner/Championship, in the Level BI Freestyle division.

November 2, 2025 - Declaration Lists for all 2025 IBTF Freestyle World Championship/Nations Cup disciplines are attached.

These lists are based upon information received from the declarations. These have been verified by the coarches of the athletes who submitted declarations.

Please review the entire attached document - it contains important information about the entry requirements and qualifying process that will be used to select the Canadian contingent that will participate in the 2026 IBTF World Freestyle & Rhythmic Twirl Championship and Nations Cup being hosted in Paris, France August 3-9, 2026. Please note that there are changes from the previous Canadian Team Trial cycles.

Declarations must be submitted using the online form. Intent to compete forms must be submitted on or before Midnight CDT (adjust for your local timezone) on October 22 2025. The JotForm link for the Intent to Compete Declarations for all athletes is: https://form.jotform.com/252777551020252

These Declarations must also include the $200.00 fee per athlete. This fee is held as a deposit against future Contingent expenses and will be refunded only if the athlete competes at the Canadian Team Trials but is not selected for the Contingent – if the athlete withdraws from participation in the Canadian Team Trials or World Freestyle & Rhythmic Twirl Championship and Nations Cup or does not compete in the event offered at the 2026 CBTF Canadian Championship, the deposit will not be refunded.

An interim report describing the number of declarations received in each discipline/division/level as of October 22, 2025 will be distributed to coaches by October 24, 2025. Changes to the “Intent to Compete” declaration will be accepted up until October 26, 2025 (additions or deletions).

Declarations received after October 22, 2025 must also be accompanied by a Late Declaration Fee:

Athletes and Teams that do not submit an Intent to Compete Declaration by the initial deadline of October 22, 2025 for the 2026 Canadian Team Trials may enter disciplines being offered (by the official competition entry deadline), but will be required to pay a late fee of $100 per discipline per athlete for individual/pair events and $300 per team in addition to the standard entry fee. Also, if the $200 deposit (per athlete) has not been paid, this will also be due at the time of entry.
