April 18, 2011 - Today the Canadian Baton Twirling Federation announces that Steven Kopas has been selected to be the Team Manager for the Canadian Contingent to the 2011 WBTF International Cup in Jacksonville, Florida.

Canada is allowed to send up to 10 athletes in all Individual and Pair Events/Divisions/Levels and up to 6 Teams/Groups in each Level - spots in some Events/Divisions/Levels are still available. These remaining vacancies can be filled by athletes following the Late Declaration Process, strictly on a first-come first-filled basis. Once all spots in an Event/Division/Level have been filled, no further declarations for that Event/Division/Level will be accepted.

Updated April 11 2011 - change to Senior B 2-Baton and Adult B 2-Baton

Updated April 5 2011 - Change to Junior Elite 2-Baton and Canada is now allowed to send up to 10 entries in Solo, Two Baton, Three Baton, Artistic Twirl and Artistic Pairs and up to 6 Teams/Groups.

Courses are typically arranged by the provincial organizations, so please contact the organization in your province to see what has been scheduled.

April 3, 2011 - Elan Paluck, CBTF Technical Chair, announced that on Saturday April 2nd, the official draw for the Compulsory Moves Set that will be performed at the 2011 Canadian Championships was held.

March 25, 2010 - We have all witnessed the devastation of the magnitude 9.0 earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan on March 11. The magnitude of the disaster seems to grow each day, with almost 30,000 people reported dead or missing and over 550,000 displaced from their homes.

Please use the attached form to request practice time in either the Main Gym or the Practice Gym.

March 4, 2011 - Three judges will represent Canada at the 2011 WBTF International Cup in Jacksonville, Florida. Joining Ron Kopas (CBTF Judges' Rep) will be Brenda Cooper and Deardra Leslie.

March 1, 2011 - The Canadian Baton Twirling Federation is now accepting applications for the position of Team Manager for the Canadian Contingent to the 2011 WBTF International Cup in Jacksonville, Florida.

These events are the entry level to competition. The Pre-Event specific set routines provide simplicity, proper progression and promote proper baton and body technique -- athletes, coaches and judges. Athlete’s evaluations are based on a standard national CBTF grading system.

We, the athletes, promise to maintain a positive and friendly attitude on and off the competition floor. We will adhere to the rules and regulations at all time and demonstrate respect for judges, coaches, parents, volunteers, competitors and, most of all, ourselves.

January 19, 2011 - The deadline for applications for the 2011 Team Investors Group Amateur Athletes Fund is MONDAY, JANUARY 31, 2011.

In keeping with their commitment to amateur sport in Canada, Investors Group established an Amateur Athlete Bursary Fund for Canada’s top amateur athletes in 2000.
