A process to appeal advancement scores is being piloted during the 2025-26 season. A PILOT PROJECT FOR THE 2025-2026 SEASON

The intent of the Advancement Appeal process is to give coaches a mechanism to challenge advancement scores that may not reflect the athlete’s performance. The process is designed to be confidential to protect the competitor, coach, and judge using a fair and independent review mechanism that ensures the timely distribution of a decision.

The appeal process has a fee attached ($50) and is time-critical (appeals must be submitted within 48 hours of the end of the competition, including payment of all fees).

Courses are typically arranged by the provincial organizations, so please contact the organization in your province to see what has been scheduled.

Age divisions for IBTF disciplines are different than CBTF age divisions, and an athlete's competing age is also determined differently. Please refer to the corresponding IBTF Rulebook for IBTF rules.

September 16, 2025 - The Canadian Baton Twirling Federation is pleased to announce the 2026 Canadian Team Trials will take place in Oshawa, Ontario from May 15, 2026 through May 17, 2026. Congratulation to the Ontario Baton Twirling Association on their successful bid to host this event.

September 16, 2025 - The 2026 Canadian Winner/Championship and Maple Leaf Open will be held in Regina, Saskatchewan from July 1, 2026 through July 5, 2026. Congratulation to the Saskatchewan Baton Twirling Association on their selection as the host for these events.
