November 25, 2009 - Ann Bittenbender, an icon in the United States Twirling Association and the World Baton Twirling Federation, passed away on November 21.
Ann coached many U.S. and World Champions, including the 4-time World Champion Team from Italy.
September 23, 2009 - Beginning the the 2009-10 competitive season, the CBTF will provide a new method to become registered CBTF members and be able to enjoy CBTF programs and competitions.
Campbell’s® Chunky®, the Coaching Association of Canada and TSN have launched the search for the Chunky MVC: Most Valuable Coach. The 'nomination phase' of the contest closes at noon on January 6, 2010.
July 2, 2009 - The Lynda Garland "Award for Excellence" was presented for the first time at the Canadian Baton Twirling Championships in Edmonton, Alberta. The first recipient of Lynda Garland's "Award for Excellence" was Maureen Johnson, of Regina, Saskatchewan.
July 1, 2009 - Final Round results from the WBTF Events portion of the 2009 Canadians were announced today. The competition took place over three days - June 28/29/30.

August 9, 2009 - Following the 2009 CBTF Annual General Meeting, elections for the positions of Athletes' Representative and Judges' Representative elections were conducted.
Preliminary Round results from the 2009 International Cup Team are now available. The top 10 teams from each Division move on to compete in the Final Round.

August 2, 2009 - The Canadian Contingent was formally welcomed to the 2009 International Cup at a Welcome Party held in Sydney, Australia on August 2 2009.
Most of the Contingent have already been in-country for a few days and have been enjoying the sights of Sydney as well as preparing themselves for the upcoming competition at daily practices.

August 1-5, 2009 will be used for judges meetings, WBTF meetings, registration and the International Clinic.
In-country training for the Canadian Contingent is scheduled from July 31 through Aug 5.

Honorary Memberships can be awarded to any one who has contributed to the sport of baton twirling. Individuals are nominated and submitted for approval by the CBTF Executive.
