Material from the November 2020 webinar that reviewed the new Solo DanceTwirl scoresheet and provided some tools for judging the Solo DanceTwirl event.

 

The Complaints Policy has been introduced as a way of addressing disagreements between CBTF Members, without invoking the more formal Grievance and Discipline processes as outlined in the CBTF Bylaws.

The CBTF Executive shall assign a current CBTF Member in Good Standing to as as the CBTF Complaints Officer.

To apply, complete the application form attached below and submit to the CBTF President. The successful applicant must also agree to and sign the CBTF Complaints Officer Non-Disclosure Agreement, also attached below.

GENERAL

  1. The CBTF First Vice-President shall be responsible to coordinate the nomination procedures, voting procedures and presentation of the CBTF Recognition Honours and Awards (Exception:  Lynda Garland shall coordinate all aspects of the Lynda Garland Award for Excellence).
  2. All recipients must be CBTF Members in Good Standing.
  3. All presentations shall take place during the Annual Canadian Winner/Championship competition (Exception: those given to World and International Cup participants – see below).

Courses are typically arranged by the provincial organizations, so please contact the organization in your province to see what has been scheduled.

These are sample membership forms that can be used as a template by a provincial organization (or clubs, with approval from their provincial organization). These are templates only - they must be modified to include the provincial or club organization, and be updated to reflect the correct fees for that province. English and French form templates are attached below.

Please review the attached list of resources as you plan for the upcoming year, and circulate it to your clubs and provincial associations.

PURPOSE

Social Media is changing the way we communicate by offering people the opportunity to take part in online communities: to access information, entertain, and share content.  The CBTF recognizes that its members may take part in social media interactions and has identified the need to establish guidelines with regards to its own social media presence.

ACCIDENTS & INJURIES

  • The Competition Director or designate and/or the Head Judge shall have the authority to immediately stop the competition whenever a risk factor related to safety becomes evident.
  • If this situation occurs during individual competition, the competition on the lane where the situation occurs shall be stopped on that lane only by the competition director and/or the judge judging that event.

April 28, 2020 - The CBTF Education Committee and Sara Mougeot, CBTF SDP Rep, are pleased to share this information on the Online SDP Testing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Online SDP Testing will begin on May 1 - Testing video must be submitted using the website: sdp-online.cbtf.ca.

NOTE: September 13 changes have been approved and are included in the attached written description. The changes bring the written description into alignment with the demonstration video.

September 20, 2019: one additional correction has been included.

February 23, 2020: following the WBTF Winter Meetings, there was a a small change to the written description and the demonstration video has been updated.

February 9, 2020 - Today the Canadian Baton Twirling Federation is pleased to announce the Team Manager for the Canadian Contingent to the 2020 WBTF World Championship in Riccione, Italy. Steven Kopas has been selected as the World Championship Contingent Team Manager.

The CBTF Executive acted as the selection committee. The committee was chaired by President (CBTF President).
