March 21, 2022 - The Brochure and Entry Information as well as Host Hotel information for the 2022 Canadian Team Trials and Northern Lights Classic Open is attached.

As part of the athlete accreditation process, the CBTF requires that all athletes provide a Health Certificate indicating they are in generally good health and are fit to compete.

The map below shows the relative locations of the 2022 Team Trials competition venue (University of Regina, Centre for Kinesiology, Health, and Sport), the Canadian Contingent Clinc venue (Martin School of Dance and Baton Twirling), and the Headquarters Hotel (The Atlas Hotel).

The Headquarters Hotel is The Atlas Hotel. Rooms are available at the special room rate of $139.95/night + taxes. A team breakfast is included in that rate, along with free parking, and wi-fi. The deadline to reserve rooms is April 22, 2022.

March 20, 2022 - Today the Canadian Baton Twirling Federation is pleased to announce the Team Manager for the Canadian Contingent to the 2022 WBTF World Championship in Turin, Italy. Steven Kopas has been selected as the World Championship Contingent Team Manager.

The CBTF Executive acted as the selection committee. The committee was chaired by President (CBTF President).

March 15, 2022 - Please take note of the preliminary schedule for the 2022 Canadian Team Trials. The order of events is subject to change.

After entries have been received and processed, the schedule will be updated with start times for each event.

February 6, 2022 - The Canadian Baton Twirling Federation is now accepting applications for the position of Team Manager for the Canadian Contingent to the 2022 WBTF World Championship in Turin, Italy.

CBTF will select one Team Manager, who will be responsible for the World Championship and travel with the contingent. This is an honorary position - no salary or honorarium will be paid beyond travel and living expenses.

The Skills Development Program (SDP) is a comprehensive, progressional model for the sport of baton twirling with the focus of equal development in all three modes of twirling as well as body technique elements following the CBTF Long-Term Development strategy. The SDP strives to be a national program that builds a strong technical foundation with a consistent approach to development, terminology, and training of baton twirling and body technique skills for every twirler across Canada.

The Covid-19 Pandemic will change our approach to practicing group events moving forward. This document has been put together by all the Provincial Group Reps as a way to provide some guidance to our coaches. Please note that, before full group practicing and competing can occur, Provincial Guidelines related to social distancing may need to be relaxed and this will be different in each province.

Please follow Provincial Guidelines.  It is our commitment to maintain communication and fairness to all provinces as we navigate this situation.

CBTF MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

All members of the CBTF must hold a current CBTF Provincial/Territorial membership from the province/territory in which they reside, or a Direct Membership with CBTF if their province/territory does not have a CBTF-affiliated provincial organization. Individuals must be members in good standing with the provincial/territorial association in which they reside to participate in any event, activity or competition sanctioned by the CBTF.

Definition

Persons who reside in provinces that do not have a CBTF affiliated provincial association can become members of CBTF as Direct Members Participation in CBTF programs/events shall be determined by the Membership Type purchased.

 

Qualification for Canadian Team Trials and Winner/Championship

The following procedure shall apply to the hosting of provincial qualifying events for athletes from member provinces and athletes from non-member provinces:

As a member of the CBTF Contingent, you are an ambassador for Baton Twirling in Canada and of the CBTF. This privilege is accompanied by certain expectations and responsibilities which must be followed for the entire duration specified by CBTF for which you are considered a member of the Canadian Contingent.
